New York Times columnist Paul Krugman was similarly underwhelmed: "It's Econ 101: the tax cut really goes to the oil companies," he wrote on his blog on Tuesday. Makes sense.

So far, Obama's fiscal positions overall are more responsible than both McCain's and Clinton's. McCain seems to be aspiring to outdo Bush in fiscal irresponsibility: cut more taxes, increase substantially overall spending, continue the war till we "win", and, now, pander to the electorate with real bad economic band aids.

Sam; A gas tax holiday proposed by U.S. presidential hopefuls John McCain and Hillary Clinton Nuts! How stupid are these people? You have a problem with oil shortages driven by demand and you want to encourage more use by support of prices by the government! Hillary has demonstrated to me one more time a lack of judgement. Then when the end of the summer comes and the gas tax holiday is ready to expire McCain/Hillary can be charged with "increasing taxes". Geeeez.
