Was Tip a wild eyed liberal or Muskie for that matter.

Uh, yeah.

What should we do with liberals like matthews, kill them?

Of course not. But we should not be unduly influenced by them, either. You are fully entitled to your views, nobody takes that from you.

Liberalism is necessary to keep conservatism from getting out of hand. But the extremist form that liberalism has taken on is much more of a threat to the nation than the extreme forms of conservatism. No matter how conservative you get, you do no real harm. But extreme liberalism, for example, as Z is espousing, and as Obama is pushing, threatens the nation's security.

Really, that's where I have a problem with liberalism. Hell, Bush has acted like a liberal when it comes to spending on education and prescription drugs, something he should never have done. But the liberals would have done the same thing if they'd had the power.

Michael,

yes he is a democrat. Was Tip a wild eyed liberal or Muskie for that matter. I seem to remember him running as a moderate as opposed to mcgovern who you might remember. What should we do with liberals like matthews, kill them? They are every bit a part of the fabric of this country as you.

Some posters made arguments that Matthews was not a liberal. He has always been a liberal, just not a complete Moveon.org / DailyKos nut.

I don't think anybody suggested he has no right to run or have his opinions...

Joe
