This is over your head but I'll try to explain it to you.

The term "surplus" is confusing you. It is a CASH surplus. But SS owes trillions to beneficiaries that hasn't been booked yet.

You cannot accurate measure the surplus (in this case, actually a huge deficit) with cash. Because it doesn't give account to the massive liability for unfunded benefits.

Had you taken an entry level course in accounting, you would know this.
