So... you are 'not against' the Balanced Budget amendment... (just that you are skeptical that it will work... though you can think of nothing that offers *any more hope for success* when it comes to reining-in chronic government over-spending and near-endless deficits and continual monetary depreciation.)

So don't try to stand in the way! (You might be pleasantly surprised that our Constitution lives still!)

Either the amendment will WORK, or it WON'T. (No harm, no foul!)

And, if it doesn't work, (if politicians just come to TOTALLY IGNORE the US Constitution and all the laws that it contains, if Big Brother usurps all power) well, since you have no 'better' policy suggestion to offer, if our constitutional Democracy comes totally a-cropper, politicians lying and cheating at will, no functional checks and balances, the 'Grand American Experiment' a failure, well... we will ALL be in it then, anyway. :-(
