There were valid reasons to go into iraq with what we knew then. The intel turned out wrong and parts of it overhyped but this is nothing new. The failure was once committed, not to try to win it from the get go with adequate levels of troops on the ground. Sure with 20/20 hindsight the war shouldnt have been started but you dont need 20/20 to know rummy screwed up. If you were going to go to war in iraq, they should have listened to Powell. I think things would be far from perfect if they did but one hell of a lot better than they now are.
