Let's not get too dismissive of the idea.

We have a bunch of bases in Germany. It'd be a piece of cake. Canada would be quick and easy also. Both have a long history of democracy and a well educated and well trained population. No real ethnic strife, the differences between Bavarians and "real" Germans pale in comparison to Sunni/Shiite divisions so that shouldn't be a problem.

And, in both countries, being bombed on the roadside involves large quantities of alcohol and no real explosive materials...

No, I am just refuting your argument:

Iraq was a broken down dictatorship that could handle it's own shit much less threaten us.

If there is one country that can't handle its own shit and can threaten us, your argument is invalid. And I gave you an example of one such country.
