No president ever appears anywhere that hasn't been carefully arranged and staged. Anyone who ever worked a White House event can tell you that. Their advance teams are some of the best in the business.

Nothing but nothing goes on camera that hasn't been cleared by the senior staff.

As usual, if the White House admits any kind of fault at all, it's never really quite their fault in the end.

That's true of this administration as it is of most major politicians or political groups. But they have a more solid case here than many other groups have. The carriers mission was accomplished. "Mission Accomplished" doesn't mean "there will be no more fighting in Iraq".
