That is because you have not done your research and I have. I was a registered Republican until only a month ago and have been one my entire life, and I'm pretty darn old. When these primaries began, I went through each Republican sifting through them looking for one I could vote for. I started to settle on Huckabee until he started looking like an Evangelical to me. Then I started settling on Romney until he started repeating the neo-con mantras. Then I did a brave thing and looked at the Dems. Richardson was the one who had the most experience and was my favorite until I started reading up on Obama.

Everyone has to choose their top issues to vote on. For me it is getting out of Iraq, balancing the budget, and becoming energy independent. Those are my top 3. The Republicans are all for staying in Iraq forever, which means you can forget a balanced budget. I thought McCain might be for energy independence, because he talks a good game, but when I examined his voting record, I found out that he's a liar. He's voted against every bill that would have gotten us there.

So you can see why I'm looking at Dems. They will get us out of Iraq and they will get us to energy independence. They also believe in PayGo rules, which the Republicans do not believe in. What I know for sure is that history tells us that Republicans are responsible for most of the national debt. Dems like to spend money too, but mostly on domestic issues, and from where I'm sitting right now, if the US is going to spend alot of money we don't have I'd sure as hell rather it be on Americans that Iraqis. So there you have it.

But to be fair, McCain has a reasonably impressive track record even without his stay in Hanoi. Again, he wouldn't have been my choice, but he does have a good number of accomplishments he can point to.

Uh.....what exactly are these accomplishments of McCain you are so proud of?
