"It's clear that anyone that isn't far right extremist like you is a liberal. "

Bingo. When a junior senator from Illinois, I think, said that Barry Goldwater would be insufficiently conservative to be in the Republican party in the 1980s, I am sure that i-node gave a standing ovation.

I understand what it is like to realize that the cathedral has been taken over by gargoyles.

You have my sympathies.

But, the only rational thing to do is pick up and move on. Label yourself as an independent, progressive or whatever. The label isn't important. Your ideals are. It very well may be that there isn't an existing party that tracks with you. I've been there for a while. At this stage of empire, pragmatism seems to be a disease. However, this is really only a step to higher achievements based on historical models. WWII was not the first test, but the expression of dominance. We are now facing our first test.

We should ace it, but it isn't a given. If the i-nodes and the American Spirits are where we are, well, we fail.

But I don't think we are there.
