Patricia -

I have no doubt that Obama has supporters who are rude jerks. As does any candidate.

As for the black vote, I think the best he's done is about 90%, but even so, why should that be an issue? If a white candidate got 90% of the white vote, would that make his candidacy an issue of race?

When Hillary gets the majority of women's votes, does that make her candidacy about gender?

Can you reference any of that behavior on this thread?

Of course the race is a big factor, folks.

You have one side trying to look at it as if race is a non-issue and the other side looking at it as if race is the only issue.

Both are wrong - the race issue will be integral to this primary.
The party leadership has been sitting on the fence because of it, letting an abscess fester - very reminiscent of the lack of preparation & decision-making when Katrina was bearing down on New Orleans. They had a window of opportunity after Texas when the Republican crossover put Hillary over the top.

If Hillary gets the nomination now, her supporters will have a tough time arguing it wasn't because of the Wright issue. Period. Full stop.

Dale isn't saying Obama supporters always take the high road- he was just tired, right here, on this thread, of seeing the multitude of Obama supporters being called delusional (As am I- since it is very very VERY insulting). The best defense to that is NOT a "But but but, look what Obama supporters have called me and other people elsewhere". Actually, there really is no defense to that. You probably should just say "Gosh, that's terrible. No one should go around labeling half their own party delusional, if they're a democrat."

And it's just awful you were accused of racism, and that your friend was called a racist. There are rude people on both sides. That's too bad.

Pat, I would welcome you to debate issues. It is very offensive for you to be persistently raising the issue of race on several threads you post on SI. You have been recently banned on another thread (not the Obama thread that I host)because of your racial comments. It was extremely painful for the thread host to ban you judging from his PMs to me.

I would ask you to engage in a meaningful issue dialog that I am trying to initiate with folks like you and Mary. Judging from the posts I am tempted to stereotype women and their approach to politics. But what keeps me from doing so is that there are other women posters on this thread itself who are very dignified in putting forth their POV. So please, I hope that not only will you cease to make blanket accusations about Obama supporters, but that you will also make an effort to engage yourself in fruitful issues oriented discussions. For a start, he you go:
