I haven't had to many problems with Vista. I guess one key point is that I bought a PC with it pre-installed rather than upgrading, which I understand has not worked out so well (to the point where many consider it a downgrade). It is overall slower than XP, but usually by only a few percentage points. And my previous computer was much slower (a 650 mhz Duron, now I have a dual core 2.6 ghz system).

But every now and then I still run in to a program that won't work on it. I you have a good XP system, I don't see any reason to go out and pay money to move to Vista. The benefits aren't very compelling, and even if its not that much slower, its still slower.
