where would you send american troops today, assuming no iraq war to attend to. Darfur, Zimbawe?? What if under nato banner for humanitarian reasons? You think that makes quagmires impossible to occur? Either you do nation building or you dont. I was always wary of using the army that way. I just dont think it works but it did work in the balkans. It might work in africa?? but if doesnt would you be attacking president obama if he did it?? Or would you be for it and be on the other side of the argument if there were a new quag?????

John,

NATO operations, presumably for humanitarian reasons. In the lead up to Iraq nobody was talking humanitarian.

Kosovo invasion became "NATO operation" only because Clinton could not get the blessing of the UN.
