It will be Rev Wright sound bites 24/7 until election night. I doubt anyone can rise above the inevitable mud slinging.

Several ways. The stark difference between Obama's views, style, issues of concern, etc., and Wright. Some strong repudiation of Wright's recent tour and argument that an attack on him was an attack on the black church, from a sizeable component of the black leadership. And some attacks on the McCarthyism of claiming that Wright's views are Obama's simply because of the relationship.

Obama will have to deal with the 20 years argument. But Richard Wolffe of Newsweek said something interesting last night on one of the talk shows, something several of us have noted. He argued that the Wright that showed up on the Moyers show was qualitatively different from the one at the National Press Club.
