The Dalai Lama hasn't been back to China since he escaped -- he was under house arrest. Same thing for other politically significant Tibetans, they are kept imprisoned, e.g., the Panchan Lama, imprisoned since age 6.

Say what you will about Chinese "capitalism", respect for human rights is very poor.

The government cannot tolerate dissent because it exists only as a dictatorship. If the people had a choice, they would choose a different government.

In the West, you enjoy freedom of speech but in China, no, and in Tibet, even less.

But nobody can imprison your thoughts.
