Making a blanket statement about someone's writing, even when you are unfamiliar with the writings (and I'm not), and even when the comment is negative, isn't ad hominem.

It might be something else you don't like, but if your going to call me on some other point, call me on that point, rather than pretending your mistakes or distortions actually have any validity.
