<<<Where Trinity departs, and oversteps its purview, is the extent to which it injects political ideology. This is why it's under investigation and finds its non-profit status threatened>>>

Obama will have to be able to separate himself from Rev Wright. That will be unpleasant, but that is not all that Obama has to do. Obama will have to separate himself from the Trinity United Church of Christ and their radical beliefs especially with regards to black liberation theology. Obama has been a member of that Church for 20 years. That is going to be a little more difficult to do.

John, all churches have similar outreach and charitable programs.....the bigger and wealthier they are, the more programs.

Outreach programs and social justice gospel work are quite different. My guess is that a close examination of Trinity versus some sort of mainline suburban church, of similar size, would be dramatically different on that score.

As for the comments about Wright, I don't see enough evidence to even get close to your generalizations. My own assumption is that the issue is much more complicated. But none of us have enough information right now to know.
