It's completely a cult. The believers can't argue their case and simply believe, have faith, trust in the alpha male leaders. Some get into courtier positions with serious cash flow and they don't necessarily believe, they just recite the liturgy, defend the dogma, hold the line, excommunicate and put beyond the pale as needed, conduct heresy trials and burn at the stake [in a sustainable carbon-friendly way of course].
