Max, I agree about adversity building character. I've had no illusions about him being a pro pitcher or anything like that. I just always hoped he'd pile up some great memories and some great friendships, and I think he has. And it sounds like your dad did the same. Sports obviously meant a lot to him. It certainly teaches you lessons about effort and perseverance. I told him tonight that now he knows how a racehorse must feel when he breaks his leg, and if he sees a truck labeled "Glue Factory" pull in the driveway he might want to go out the back door.<g>
