hi makeuwonder - the topic is esoteric and the public doesn't like details. They also don't realize that these things affect them unless they see it in black and white. I've often posted that real reform won't come until the market has a real collapse. So far, we've avoided that. The investigation into what may have been manipulative shorting with respect to the investment banks may or may not lead to reform. Clearly, there was suspicious option trading and options are one of the ways that big pools of money avoid the rules against naked shorting.
