My favorite was the YouTube clip where O'Reilly swore he never told anyone to shut up, followed by a dozen clips of him telling people to shut up.

Just priceless.

IMO, you sized up O'Reilly perfectly....he doesn't listen at all. He cuts off what his subject is saying most of the time, offers no follow up, not even a nod of the head, to indicate that he heard anything. He just abruptly goes on to the next question.

And yes, he's a presumptive know-it-all....who rarely has a fact based understanding of his topics. I often watch him just to get a chuckle.

The other person that does that alot is Chris Matthews. Just when someone is about to make an interesting or novel point, he will break in and talk right over them as he moves on to a new topic.

"O'Reilly was completely superficial and ignorant of the issues, and was spouting a lot of really off the wall stuff, and of course, no one could say a word because he was so SURE he was right."

I find the same when he talks about oil prices.

and LISTEN to their guests

Knowledge of subject matter notwithstanding, it's a matter of civility to actively listen to your guest answer the question before your follow up. That's what I dislike about O'Reilly. I could handle is ignorance and his bias if he were just civil.
