Anyway, the 100 years comment from McCain was pretty stupid, you have to admit. He should have made it clear that victory is the goal, not 100 years of quagmire.

He said presence without casualties. That is not a definition of a quagmire. We have had troops in Japan, Korea, Germany for years without a quagmire.

But that brings up a point where I probably disagree with McCain. I think the US should be trying to be reduce its foreign commitments. Bringing troops back from Japan and Germany - or at least substantially reducing them would be a good step, IMO.
