I think production has continued to increase. At $100 a barrel, a lot of people are trying to extract and sell more of the stuff. The profits are immense, as BP and Shell have shown in the last few days with their record profits. Shareholders like more of the same.

So, while there is much promising of Peak Oil, let's wait and see. 2037 does seem far away, but the last 30 years didn't take long. According to my old grandmother who was 93 thirty years ago, time goes faster and faster. So far, she was right. I enquired of her long before that as I noticed the effect quite young.
