one more try. There was a good chance that saddam was going to get himself out of sanctions. Folks were already trading with him in clandestine fashion. No, he didnt have WMDS. Yes he would have tried to get them again, once out of the box.

I got you the first time. I don't buy any of this. We could have kept this guy in a box until they put him in a box, and still take better care of his people. And we could have done the same with his sons and anyone who followed him into power. And all that trouble would still have been preferable to war.

I am not saying this was a reason to go to war or that an end to sanctions was imminent but the process had definitely begun.

Agree with the first part of your statement.
