?? who was talking federalism? Cheney told us that we would be welcomed as liberators. The war would be paid for by iraq...please...when I think about this it makes my blood boil.

Did you know india has the largest moslem population in the world and hindus and moslems get along for the most part. Shiaa/sunni differences in iraq were/are not insoluble. But if it was, you would end up with a three state solution which if done professionally wouldnt have been a disaster and would certainly be better than saddam.

Different problem. You are comparing intra religion secterian strife, vs inter religious. Post WW2, india went through a bloody civil unrest that eventually led to Pakistan split. I can tell you that there is no sign that the folks in the WH even expected this level of complication...and they say so now. That's how incompetent they were/are.
