My guess is that blacks have been held back by the social programs of the 60s that reinforced the wrong behaviors. But that is just my view. I know too many blacks who have, after coming from the worst possible situations, made good lives for themselves just by making good decisions. I know numerous black physicians who worked hard and put themselves through school. They just made good decisions. Why are so many blacks making wrong choices today? I don't know; but it isn't because their great-great-great-great grandparents were slaves, I can tell you that much. I know a lot of white kids who have had it handed to them, and simply turned away, choosing instead, paths that led them nowhere. Can't tell you why that happens, either.
