Temporarily messing with taxes is political pandering without tangible consequence. A poll asking people if they would like to have an extra $100 in their pockets for four months has little policy value. Mcsame and clinton are pandering. Obama's answer is not much better towards long term goals of energy independence....bu i think they should take some money away from the oil companies and distribute it to truckers in the form of diesel credits.

The government can play a far more important role in stimulating the adoption of alternative forms of energy.
