The US has an excellent tax shelter that's even better than Hong Kong, the Roth IRA. It's a retirement account that grows tax free, you can trade in it tax free, and you withdraw money from it tax free. You can pass it on to your heirs, and they can withdraw money from it tax free, but the tax freedom lasts only one generation -- unless you transfer it to a charitable foundation.

I do almost all my trading in my Roth IRA, and all my high interest/high dividend securities are there too.
