"If you are black engineer with at least the same amount of experience and skills as a white engineer, employers all along the West Coast will almost always choose the black engineer."

Don't forget, Asian engineer fills a quota box too..

Ted, > There is no black privilege other than in the overactive imaginations of neos.

If you are black engineer with at least the same amount of experience and skills as a white engineer, employers all along the West Coast will almost always choose the black engineer.

And yet there is so few black engineers. How do you explain that?

This affirmative action is in place partly because there is a huge underrepresentation of blacks in engineering. Can't be that "white privilege" you are talking about, because there is a huge representation of Asians.

There is no sense continuing this conversation with you because you all have discounted the impact of 150 years of slavery and 100 years of discrimination on the black community. It would be like trying to have a conversation with a kid about why adults in a marriage disagree from time to time.
