4: having or showing undue or excessive pride in one's appearance or achievements : conceited

a definition of vain. yes. but i i i do know the mind of god. oh wait. she just jabbers to me at times. or not. i've not taken my pills for a few days.

i jest. but don't jest. clearly in the old days the prophets, or those who came to be given that name, said they spoke the mind of god. did they? or did they just rant.

i am going to use the generic 'you'. don't think i mean you, personally, in this following rant...

but why wright upset so many? preacher after preacher who not only has huge audiences far far far beyond rev wright, talking in the 100s of thousands, denounces gays and roe/wright supporters as the reason america is damned and that america IS damned because of them... yet no outrage. and mccain courts them. they have the ear of the inner circle of washington power. but but but... everyone has their out on abortion. and most aren't gay. k, they say 1 in 10. but come on... might be. but 1 in 10 don't admit or live it and surely don't live it openly. so is a small minority in reality. so these preachers go on and on about america being damned and no one much minds. k, i mind at times. but you get used to it. then there comes this man. not just any man. a BLACK man and says damn you america for what you have done. and you take it personal. golly shucks. someone has laid the damnation at your doorstep. deal with it. queers get it every day. lap dancers get it every day. lots of us get it every day. but all you white people who supported turning iraq into a parking lot... all of a sudden someone says .... damn you. and you are all outraged. deal with it. welcome to the queer world. hey, i always knew bombing iraq was wrong. at least this time the damnation is not my fault cause i am a woman who loves a woman? imagine that. it is your fault. the outrage is comical. most of you put up with, if not endorse, preachers who say gays are the cause of the damnation of america on a daily basis. you turn your eyes. you pay no attention. but, hey, is not your fault. and you might have a gay friend but you not really think about what that 'preacher' is really saying. but when it is turned on you? oh, you so very offended. you poor dears. sorry you offended.

ooopsies. a lil rant. and probly not well said. but is a kernal in there somewheres. i will work on it. why these politicians go on about the 'bible' but i not heard one say what they really think? tell me something new, for Christ's sake. (capitalizing so as not to be in vain. smile.)

Kate,

I wish we could get god/religion out of the election all together. Doesn't belong in the election. I think it is one of the things that helps make this country great. One of the problems in many countries is that religion plays such a prominent role in the countries politics.
