I agree. We must hope we have the time. If we don't, we don't. And that will be too bad for our kids, or our grandkids. I quite agree with Mary that it is possible we will face calamities that arise too quickly for us to surmount them. I don't claim to know which of the many possible calamities we may face- but I do think we should be more careful in general. We've been a bunch of wastrels so far- when it comes to the resources of the Earth. If I were Falwell I'd say "God might teach us a lesson over this," but I'm not, so I won't :-) The way I look at it, you sometimes get what you deserve- and if the human race does, it won't be pretty.
