in the past? all of the past. who 'created' jazz? and the blues? and a certain segment? no. rap is popular across the board but there is a 'rep' attitude attached and a 'creation' attitude, which is really annoying since celts rapped for many centuries before the first rap record. you are talking about, i gather, gangsta rap, which is simply a patriculiar persuasion, hardly the actual reality of what is 'rap'. is rap appealing? of course. i enjoy it. i don't like much music. it annoys me. i like quiet sounds. or no sound. why bother with all that music stuff if the point is the words? but don't be hijacking rap for the sake of talking of killing and guns. that would annoy me even more. and blacks did not create it. the celts did. so there. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
