I guess you really don't get what I said. So let me say it again, very simply, it is NOT an "either/or" case. When you deal with the effects of global warming- drought, flooding- you can also deal with food crises. Part of the food crises we are having ARE weather driven. So, I'm not saying we deal with the man made aspects of GW (as I keep repeating) but dealing with the effects of GW (where ever they are coming from) deals with other problems as well- since they are either caused by, or entangled with, GW.

I dislike binary thinking in most instances. It rarely gives adequate answers- and most of the time when binary choices are posted on SI they are merely false dichotomies, as I think yours is.

<<<I do not take GW seriously because there is esentially nothing we can do about it. If the tipping point is near - we are going to tip. >>>

I don't get that. What do you mean by that nothing can be done if the tipping point is near?

Bob;

If the tipping point is near - we are going to tip. If the tipping point is not near - then the whole thing is a bunch of wild speculation.

This is one of the strangest arguments I have ever heard. You could apply this thinking to every single problem. It is accepting things just as they are with no hope of ever solving a single problem in the world or in your own life.

"Well I'm almost out of money or maybe the bank is saying I'm almost out of money". In either case why try to do something about it?
