Hardly. And I don't want people dying in the streets in China, either, to preempt that charge. And I also anticipate your not believing me.

I think if we can get countries to start going green before they get as bad as China, that would be better. Treaties would be a nice part of that.

Exactly, which is why I have long supported an alternative to Kyoto aimed at reducing pollution in the developing world. Not that we can't and "shouldn't" do anything here, like improving gas mileage, merely that it's a waste of time, energy, and good will to focus treaties on us and to go after that last micro-particle. Better to get to countries before they make the same dirty mistakes we made. And we could sell some product in the process. Win-win.
