No, her point is not valid. You're right--we can't predict the tipping point although some are doing so and claiming that it's imminent--only eight years away. If it is, indeed, imminent, then we've missed the train. You betcha that's linear, as it should be.

You should be directing your complaints to those who claim an imminent tipping point along with a race to beat it when it's clearly unfeasible to beat it. I'm just arguing the lunacy of racing to the station IF the train schedule can't be met. If the alarmists want to back off claims of an imminent tipping point, If the train might still be there when we arrive at the station if traffic isn't too bad, I will back off my charges that they're loony.
