Yes that is the tax it is.

The Metro Transportation Authority was formed in the 1970's and 1980's to build rapid rail to serve Washington D.C. primarily for getting people in the suburbs to government jobs in the city.

Also serves to help people get around in D.C.--------although I prefer a taxi for that---much quicker.

There is an orange, blue, yellow, red line------may be a green line now--------feeding in from Virginia and Maryland.

Passengers do pay------but there are the constant costs for adding more lines and stations and upgrading the old.

The two big projects now are rail to Dulles Airport from D.C. through Virginia and now a 6 year project to build a rail in the Route 7 corridor from Tysons Corner, Va. to Leesburg, Va.

The Route 7 project will disrupt commuters using Route 7 to go to and from work for '6 years- projected'.
