Poitier was and remains an excellent role model. He rose to stardom when things were still really tough for Blacks in Hollywood. I got angry at Halle Berry during her acceptance speech for "Best Actress" in "Monster's ball," She badmouthed the industry for taking so long to recognize her because she was black. I thought, "Hey, Halle, you won for playing a 'soft porn' scene, stripping and simulating sex so graphically with Billy Bob Thornton that I was embarrassed watching it with a mixed audience. Be happy they liked that in the 'Biz'"
