That's interesting, what is McCains bias against it....that he was tortured also????? Right. You cannot reasonably expect a person who has been subjected to torture to be objective on the subject. Just as an example, suppose you were having a trial in a court of law, and a portion of that trial would deal with whether the defendant had tortured a victim. John McCain would be excluded from the jury in such a trial, with good reason. It isn't in any way a bash against McCain, it is a simple fact that he is not in a position to be objective in his view of it. Hillary and Obama, OTOH, are, and have come to the wrong conclusion. You simply cannot square the absolute prohibition against waterboarding with the need to protect the American public. We know that in the three situations where it was used, it was tremendously effective and harmless. There is no justification, whatsoever, for a prohibition against it. One CAN, however, easily see a rationale for limiting its use, and I certainly think it is appropriate to do so given the differences of opinion amongst persons in this country about it. But when push comes to shove, it should be quietly available if necessary.
