My Dad told a story of how a neighbor of his had a peach tree whose branch drooped over his mother's fence. A big juicy peach grew on that branch, and Dad watched it ripen but never took it. The neighbor saw Dad drooling over that peach, and when it was ready he picked it and cut it in half, giving half to Dad.

Somehow I think our generation got a different upbringing than the current one.

Oh, my! I remember the same thing! I never tried to get in as a child. And I would not let my kids do so either.
