Hi, jimsioi

"...I suppose we collectively place low odds on the ability of things to hold on..."

I noted Buffett's comment this weekend that the Fed did "the right thing socially" with their BearStearn move.

When pressed by the interviewer, he paused and then said "if they hadn't, the week that followed would have been like nothing we have ever seen on Wall Street.."

Loosely translated, I'm guessing he is saying the system was close to the edge. I'm also guessing that that systemic risk didn't suddenly all go away, despite the battering of POG, my mining Jrs. in the last 8 weeks.

So I added to my NXG position this AM.
Saville (yesterday) recommended Northgate @ $3.00 as undervalued based on cash flow and earnings. NXG also has good drill results from their recently acquired Aussie mine; good union and Native peoples rapport and no more hedges; and little political risk..

fwiw,
Shakes
