first of all ahmadijad is a figurehead and the mullahs rule iran. I think iran is a country with national interesst that is run by clique of mullahs. Because one is a mullah, doesnt make one crazy. Mao was a communist mullah of sorts. Nixon went to china. Remember. Actually thats the biggest problem i see with obama. Because he starts out as a liberal, it will be harder for him go go to iran. McCain is actually the one that would be needed to break this cycle of distrust between US and Iran that goes back to our support of the shah. US and Iran share common national interests. As crazed as they seemingly are regarding israel, I believe and always have that a deal can be struck. No nukes for iran at least for a stated period of time, an end to sanctions, a moderated policy toward israel and palestine as well as hizbollah and hamas. I dont think iran is al quaeda. I dont think radical shiites for the most part think like that, although there are exceptions.

How did you feel when nixon went to china?
