well conditions arent the same as we both know. I cant imagine him prescribing high interest rates here, even though direction might change shortly. You cant get of recession, especially one of this type by raising rates too high. I would expect something more tuned for the times rather than the 70s redux. But if thats in fact what he is offering that would be a major mistake. Obama also has great input from U of Chicago economists who are not volkerites.
