OK. Perhaps not the best example, but my point still stands, which is that there is competition for funding and lots of worthy candidates. And lots of better examples I could have used. That one just popped into my mind due to proximity.<<

That's not even a relevant example, much less a good one. What do drunk drivers have to do with letting minor drug offenders out of prison?

I agree with you that there is competition for funding. I would also agree that reconsidering who we put in jail in the first place is a good idea.

But I don't see any problem at all with letting some people who probably shouldn't be in there in the first place get out early.
