"Meanwhile Qimonda is entering solar cell manufacturing, starting with a contract with LDK Solar. Now that was a surprise!" Qimonda uses a ton a money provided by the German govt. This is just another stream for more govt backing. Qimonda ia backing off commodity, but needs to replace it with something else and has not. The back off is lost market share not increased rev from other sources.
