In the spirit of scaring humanity straight into the clutches of the green movement, Dr. Schneider (a Stanford University Professor) stated the following in the October 1989 issue of Discover magazine:

To do this, we need to get some broad-based support, to capture the public’s imagination. That, of course, entails getting loads of media coverage. So we have to offer up scary scenarios, make simplified, dramatic statements, and make little mention of any doubts we may have. This "double ethical bind" we frequently find ourselves in cannot be solved by any formula. Each of us has to decide what the right balance is between being effective and being honest.

That guy had a lot of prescience! That's exactly what is going on today.

My interpretation: it's ok to lie, mislead, exaggerate, and obfuscate if you believe that the justness of the end cause demands it.

Hi Bob. Is he saying that Al Gore and the greens are responsible for the state of the economy, even though none of their policies have been implemented under Bush? Is he saying that simply the PUBLICITY that the greens produce tanked the economy? Pretty weird ...
