We both might have about the same number of Quaker and pacifist genes running around, but sometimes the other, and usually more objective, genes run wild too.... After enduring about 20-some years of aggression, and killing of our US Citizens --events that in days past, any ONE of them would have caused us to go to war --FINALLY, after 17 different UN Resolutions (and we ALL know how effective those AREN't)....we decided to go in. To say that we should get out of the UN is another conversation altogether, but I'm all for that. And if you like the UN, you'll LOVE George Soros' and his One World Government. So since you were against the Iraq war, you were in favor of continuing to turn the other cheek so to speak....let Saddam continue to sell terror weapons to other countries ( we KNOW he sold chemicals) and looks like the other WMD's were on the drawing board....and let Saddam continue to kill his own citizens on a massive scale.... Do you think the US should just get out of ALL the countries we are in? Including the ones we've been in since WWII? Japan, South Korea, Germany and so many others? Are you willing to have the little police boats protect our shores then? Or are you in favor of building ICBM type missile protection? Or just leave the borders open, and have no protection at all...?? Why should the men and women that Unclewest talks about have to go into any territory to protect us, IF we as US Citizens don't do something to protect ourselves as a society? You said: I don't see sharia law, or terrorists, or even oil, bringing us to our knees. I would love to believe that was true, Rambi....but when I see and hear so many citizens of the US who don't know much of anything about American History, nor why wo many have fought so hard to keep this country safe to allow us the freedom we have, I think that is wishful thinking. Little by little bit, things are changing. Think of it as putting sand in a bottle, little bit by little bit, it builds to the top of the bottle. Look at what is happening in the European Countries... They are losing their original character...new people from different cultures are coming in, making no pretense at learning what their new country values, but just bringing their old ways with them, and setting up as if they were still in their old country. Some of the EU countries, are now 40-50% now totally changed. Do we want that for this Country....this Freedom Loving Country which has helped more people on the entire planet than ANY other country on earth?
