If you think McCain has a good chance of getting elected, and if you think that he'll keep up in Iraq for the next 100 years, then yeah, $3 trillion is optimistic.

McCain has never suggested the war will continue for 100 years and he has, in fact, expressed optimism that it could end faster than most people think.

But it is crazy to put any price tag on it. In my mind, any war worth fighting is worth spending whatever money it takes to fight it.
