No matter who wins in Nov, the first year at least in office is bound to be difficult. I suspect that the next 4 years will in fact be rather difficult years, largely because of economic issues which have been building for some time and now must be addressed. For McCain, Iraq had better cleanup quite well in the first year, or his approval ratings will sag big time, which is what I suspect will happen, because I don't see any good exit strategy or happy ending there. In some regards, I somewhat would not mind McCain having to clean up that mess, and be the won responsible for the outcome. He has kind of begged for it.
