If his own party does not expect him to be better than Bush, why is he going to win the election. That is the issue

Right-wingers don't expect McCain to be an improvement because he's a maverick with many moderate positions they disagree with. The religious right is positively miserable about McCain. But for that very reason, he is an easier sell to the country as a whole.

McCain vs Obama will be one candidate of the right and the center vs. another of the left and far-left.

To me the question is why anybody thinks Obama will win that one. He is George McGovern come again. Except that George McGovern was a war hero and nobody doubted that he loved America.

I prefer McSame. The appellation has even already come up on a couple of the major talking head programs. Use the (R) tactic of repetition beyond all reason, as they've done with the "Democrat" party and the "Death Tax".

Eventually, well have anchors and talking heads mistakenly calling him "McSame" on the air without even thinking, because it'll be what they use in their casual, off-air conversations.

At that time, he'll BE McSame.
