That's interesting. The Arlington shelter considers letting a cat roam to be animal abuse. I'm not strident about it like they are, but I do keep my own cats in. When I was young, I always had a cat. In fact, I had six cats between age seven or so and when I left for college. That's not concurrently but serially. That's replacing cats that didn't make it back home with a new one. I shudder to think about what happened to them. All the cats I've had as an adult have lived longer than all six of those combined, even the one with cardiomyopathy. FWIW.
