IMO mixed breeds, mongrels if you insist, make better pets; in general, less temperamental. But I wouldn't call anybody a bad name who wants a pure-bred golden retriever, for example <g>.<<

Well here we go again. We had a Shitzu pure bread that was an angel from heaven. Shitzus are bred for show - but not all are deemed to be show dogs. Those so deemed are sold as pets. Our daughter loved that dog and the dog her for more than 10 years. When Penny died our daughter bought a spot in a pet cemetary. We cried.

So - a pure bred as a pet - we had the best.

BTW - her name was Penny - I often joked it should have been C Note (several)!
